Off to Ikelenge

Well, this is quite annoying. I had just typed up my update for the second time only to have it consumed by a browser crash. Despite this, I will try to type up a quick update for whomever reads this.

It has taken me about 8 hours by land cruiser to get from Lusaka Provence to Northwest Provence and it will likely take me another 8 hours to get from Solwezi District to Ikelenge District, the latter of which is the district that I will be posted at in a couple weeks time. I will be checking out my house\hut, conferring with counter-parts, and surveying the land for possible work-sites. It has been raining in Northwest Provence for a couple days now and it will likely be raining in Ikelenge as well, so I can only hope that my hut has a roof on it otherwise I'm going to have to set up my tent inside of it and just make do. Let's also hope we don't get to cruiser flip #3 either.

Here is a map of Ikelenge:

I hope to do another update regarding Zambian folk-lore and cultural norms, as well as my day-to-day activities in Peace Corps Zambia.

As an aside for those who are not on Facebook, I have created a publicly viewable photo-album for my Zambian photos. Feel free to pass it along to other friends and family members so that they can get a good look at life in Zambia. This is the address:
